1. Which countries of map can be supported ?

Q1. Which countries of map can be supported ?
Ans:

It’s well designed for map of all the country followed the protocol “NMEA 0183”, but we suggest that the datum of
map software is better in “WGS 84”.

Q2. Do I need software/driver to install GPS Receiver on my laptop ?
Ans:

Yes, we will provide the software/driver in the whole package, and also CF-type GPS will have the CF to PCMCIA
adaptor as an option. (However some PCMCIA interface card in laptop only support memory card and WLAN card,
please check the manual of the laptop before use it.)

   
Q3. Does it work with Palm, Pocket PC and Smart Phone ?
Ans:

ezGPS Mouse-type GPS Receiver works with all the three operation system. While Bluetooth and CF-type GPS Receiver
work with only Pocket PC and Smart Phone system. (Please check the specification of PS-1200 for all the PDA adapter.)

Q4. Where can I get the map software ?
Ans:

We suggest that you can visit the Micro-Soft website and search the “AutoRoute” or other local vendors, such as TomTom, ...etc., it is allowed you to pay and download the map software of all the country in the world.

   
Q5. How long can I use the GPS Combined with display device without recharge ?
Ans:

It depends on the power capacity of your devices, moreover GPS Receiver is the minimam power consumption in the world,
it is around 33mA at 3.3volts.

Q6. What kind of chipset goes with the GPS Receiver ?
Ans:

Different from the normal GPS CF Receiver for the other companies, we give up the “SiRf” chipset, and choice the “Xemics”
and "Nemerix" Chipset from Switzerland, because of the low power consumption (33mA approximately) and the tracking
sensitivity (-152dBm) is the best.

   
Q7. If I am going to have a trip in the other country, how can I use my GPS to get the new position ?
Ans:

GPS stores the satellite data in the internal memory. If you have not used GPS for a while or have traveled a long distance,
and for the PS-3100, please remove the battery for 5 mins, and let the GPS reset.

Ans:

You may have to do the following:

Right click My Computer
Select Properties
Select Advanced Tab
Select Settings in Startup and Recovery
Select Edit
add /NoSerialMouse (this is case sensitive so add it exactly as shown here) to the line that looks like:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\XP="Windows XP" /fastdetect
so that it now reads:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\XP="Windows XP" /fastdetect/NoSerialMouse
File -> Exit Save yes
OK
and reboot

Q9. What the LED indicators on the PS-3100 Bluetooth GPS Receiver means?
Ans: LED1 (lift-hand side) :
a. Red flashing light indicates GPS tracking function has been activated
b. Orange light indicates BLUETOOTH GPS is being charged.
c. Green light, while flashing, indicates battery low, steady indicates battery fully charged.


LED2 (right-hand side) :
Blue light, flashing swiftly signals pairing,
Blue light, flashing once a second signals PDA/PC and BLUETOOTH GPS has been connected;
Blue light, flashing every 3 seconds signals connection failed.

 

Q10. Which COM port to be selected for the navigator software, for example: TomTom?
Ans:

1. Try using some of the generic receiver choices in the TomTom software first or

2. Set the port as NMEA 0183 v3.0 Bluetooth or Bluetooth Serial Port COM6.
 

Q11. When I connect my XDA II by using Bluetooth with PS-3100, I find it's not support SSP profile,
so that I can't select the COM port?

Q12. The Bluetooth GPS can not paired after the battery is completely drained.
Ans: When the battery is completed drained, the unique pairing ID is lost. Please delete the Bluetooth GPS shortcut and
the paired device from the Bluetooth Manager, restart the host device, and re-pair the Bluetooth GPS again.
